To go directly to photos of a specific ship, simply enter her name in the search window (little white space) at the upper left. Ditto for a type of warship, country, year, etc..., e.g. battlecruiser. You can click on an individual photograph to view it alone against a dark background. When you want to go back to the page, just click outside the picture. Please note that I resize, denoise/despeckle/descratch and generally crop the photos to show mostly the ship itself in the space available.

Battleship HMS Vanguard in Devonport, England,1954.
You can clearly see the thickness of the side armour and the high flared forecastle that made her such a magnificent seaboat.

German heavy cruiser/pocket battleship Admiral Scheer.
The uniform colour (unpainted turret roofs), lack of angled funnel cap, and armorial shield on the bow (removed mid-1939) suggest 1939 at the latest.

Battleship USS Arizona at anchor.
Probably in the 1920s as the cagemasts typical of American battleships of the period were replaced by more conventional tripod masts during her modernization in 1929-1930.

French predreadnought battleship Justice on the Hudson River in 1909.
From Wikipedia: "1909 Hudson-Fulton Celebration" in 1909. From Saturday, 25 September, to Monday, 11 October 1909, the U.S. state of New York commemorated the 300th anniversary of the discovery of the Hudson River by Henry Hudson in 1609 and the 100th anniversary of the first successful navigation of the river with a steamboat Robert Fulton in 1807."
